Eastbourne Town 3 Molesey 3 - 22 August
Town's first home game in Ryman Division One (South) ended in a 3-3 draw at the Saffrons tonight.
After initial exchanges had been fairly even Town took the lead following a good build up and cross that found Baitup in a central position eager to slide home from six yards. Within minutes of the restart Molesey restored parity when Boswell ran across the face of goal and rose to nod home a corner from the left.
Town restored their lead just before half time when Walsh got on the end of a cross and volleyed home giving the visiting Keeper little chance. Two minutes later back came Molesey to force a penalty and equalise through Edgehill
Four goals in an entertaining first half saw both Managers make changes and although the game continued to ebb and flow it wasn't until the 84th minute when Town again forced a lead. Substitute Steve Dallaway finished good build up play down the right when he squared a ball back to the feet of Baitup who stroked home clinically to double his evening's tally.
Town's visitors were not to be denied however and were rewarded when again Town failed to defend a set piece corner enough to prevent Caughter forcing the ball home for a share of the points. Mention should be made of Referee Mr Yerby and his two assistants who refereed the game superbly, never needing to card a single player throughout.
Attendance was 230.
