Late goals by James McShane and Michael Riggon helped Molesey to a 3-1 victory over relegation-threatened Bookham at a sun-drenched Walton Road.
Despite the visitors precarious position in the table the game had an end of season feel to it, with just a half-chance from Johnny Harding the only sight of goal either side had in the opening twenty minutes.
Farid Ebrahim-Zadeh crashed a free header against the bar from a McShane corner midway through the half, but made no mistake shortly afterwards, when left unmarked in the box once more he headed beyond Chris Peck to give the Moles the lead.
Ross Defoe saw a fierce 30 yard drive tipped over the bar by Peck as the Moles begun to get on top towards the end of the half, although their momentum was lost when Sam Lampard - who had been running the game up until that point - was forced off following a clumsy challenge by Jamie Abbott, with Joe Pratley-Jones taking his place.
It was the away side who dominated at the start of the second half, and got a deserved equaliser when centre half Sam Currie got on the end of a smart team move that he himself had begun in his own half to slot calmly beyond Wester Young.
Currie then saw a vicious free kick tipped over the bar, before Rob Lewis saved Molesey twice within a minute with a last ditch tackle on substitute Armed Brigham and then a goaline clearance from the same player after he had beaten Young to the ball and prodded it goalwards.
Prompted by the energy of Pratley-Jones the Moles finished the stronger, and a peach of cross from the youth team captain picked out McShane eight yards out. McShane stooped to head, the ball came off his thigh and despite the best efforts of Peck had enough on it to rustle into the corner of the net.
McShane was the architect for the killer third goal - Riggon’s first for the club - when he broke away down the left. His initial cross was only half cleared before being played back into the danger zone, where Riggon was in the right place at the right time to stab home.
Lewis Ackerman had a chance in stoppage time to extend the Moles lead, but after being set up by Shane Sinclair drifted his lob just the wrong side of the post.
As well as Lampard’s injury the win was marred by a further reoccurrence of an ankle problem to Luke Elliott, with both players a doubt for the final week of the season.
